Poco M2 Pro vs Realme 6 Pro - The Clash of Snapdragon 720G Processors
Poco unveiled the hotly-anticipated M2 Pro a few days back. During the launch, Poco India's general manager C Manmohan offered his two cents on why Poco M2 Pro should be the clear winner in its class, but those opinions were based on the comparison of Poco M2 Pro with the Realme 6 Pro. The Realme 6 Pro was launched earlier this year with a Snapdragon 720G processor, which Poco has used on the M2 Pro. But apart from this similarity, the Poco M2 Pro and Realme 6 Pro have many differences in their specifications.
The Poco M2 Pro looks like a rebranded Redmi Note 9 Pro except for a few things that have been changed here and there to make the former a better choice among customers. But while Poco M2 Pro manages to outshine the Redmi Note 9 Pro with thin margins, its fight with the Realme 6 Pro is discernibly worthwhile since the prices of the two are different. While the Poco M2 Pro costs Rs 14,999, the Realme 6 Pro will set you back by Rs 18,499. After all, the customer needs to go for the best option that fits their budget and brings the maximum number of features to the table for its price. We compare the Poco M2 Pro and Realme 6 Pro to help you find which one of the two is worth your money.
Processor
The Realme 6 Pro and Poco M2 Pro are powered by the same Qualcomm Snapdragon 720G processor. The cores inside the processor, the maximum clock speed, and the Adreno 618 GPU are also similar on both the smartphones. So you can expect the Poco M2 Pro will perform as much efficiently as the Realme 6 Pro. But Android skins on the Poco M2 Pro and Realme 6 Pro will weigh in when the fluidity on the smartphone is in question. The Realme 6 Pro runs Realme UI based on Android 10 while the Poco M2 Pro has Android 10 with the touch of MIUI.
Display
The Poco M2 Pro has a 6.67-inch FHD+ display with an aspect ratio of 20:9 and a pixel density of 395 PPI. The Realme 6 Pro has an upper hand here because it brings a 90Hz display to the table, although a little extra money. The refresh rate of the display is important for most use cases, including mobile gaming and Realme 6 Pro seems like a better option here. The Realme 6 Pro has a 6.6-inch FHD+ display with the same aspect ratio.
For protection, the Poco M2 Pro is touted to have a triple-layer of Corning Gorilla Glass 5 while the Realme 6 Pro only has it on the front. So, if you are someone who keeps dropping the phone a lot, Poco M2 Pro seems a better option.
Camera
The Realme 6 Pro clearly has an upper hand if we consider its on-paper specifications. The Realme 6 Pro has a 64-megapixel Samsung shooter while the Poco M2 Pro has a 48-megapixel main sensor. Other cameras on the Realme 6 Pro include a 12-megapixel telephoto sensor, an 8-megapixel ultrawide sensor, and a 2-megapixel macro sensor, while those on the Poco M2 Pro are an 8-megapixel ultrawide sensor, a 2-megapixel depth sensor, and a 5-megapixel macro sensor.
For selfies, the Realme 6 Pro has a dual setup on the front - a combination of a 16-megapixel Sony wide-angle lens and an 8-megapixel ultrawide lens. On the Poco M2 Pro, there is a single 16-megapixel camera for selfies.
Battery
The Realme 6 Pro loses the race in the battery department. Unlike the 4300mAh battery on the Realme 6 Pro, the Poco M2 Pro packs a 5000mAh battery for much less price. It is a better option when it comes to the longevity of battery life. Moreover, the Realme 6 Pro has 30W fast charging while the Poco M2 Pro comes with a slightly better 33W fast charging technology.
