Mi 10 5G - The Latest Flagship Phone from Xiaomi - Honest Review
When the world is in COVID Lockdown phase, Xiaomi is back with it's much awaited flagship device - The "Mi 10". It is the Indian Version of the "Mi Mix Alpha" which was launched in China Earlier this year. So how good is this device? Is it Worth the money we are going to pay for it? Or simply it's a day dream of Manu Kumar Jain? Let's find out.
Before we decide whether or not this phone is a success or a failure let's analyse the specifications of this flagship device.
1. Display
Coming with a 6.67" AMOLED 3D Curved Display, certainly it's a phone that you cannot turn your face away from. The Screen to Body Ratio is 92.4% which is highest for any Xiaomi device till now. The 19.5:9 aspect ratio makes it easy to hold such a big device in your palm. So display wise the phone can be considered a quality buy.
2.Network and Connectivity
When it comes to the network and connectivity as you can see in the heading it's a 5G enabled device. It is provided with all the sensors that are available in any normal smartphone.
3. RAM & Memory
The device comes with 8GB DDR5 RAM and with two storage variants 128GB and 256GB which is also UFS 3.0
4. Battery
The device is having a 4780 mAh battery with a type C port for charging the device. The phone is enabled to 30W fast charging and a 30W fast charger is provided in the box. The phone also supports wireless charging upto 10W.
5. Processor
Coming to the brain of the device - The Processor - Powered by the Snapdragon 865 chipset it certainly is device difficult to hang. We knew till Snapdragon 845 which was in the Redmi K20 Pro. But they jumped 2 versions and is providing latest Snapdragon 865 with this device. So from processor point of view its a must buy for all those gaming users.
6. Camera
Last but not the least the benchmark feature of this device is the camera. I intentionally put the camera as the last point of review because it's the key highlight of this device The Mi 10 is having a Quad Camera Setup where the primary camera is a 108MP with OIS ( Optical Image Stabilisation) suport. Yes folks you read it right - 108MP. Mi has launched its first 108MP camera device i.e. Mi 10. The Secondary camera is a 13MP Ultra Wide Angle Lens. It also has a 2MP Depth Sensor and a 2MP Macro Lens. So for all you camera lovers those who don't have the money for a DSLR can opt for this phone which will serve you the purpose of camera and phone. In my opinion Camera is the Heart of this device and the price they are charging it's worth it.
Finally we arrive at the price of the device. Xiaomi is starting the pricing at Rs. 49,999 for the 8GB/128GB variant. Which is quite high for the Indian Population. With a nation having per-capita income of Rs. 11,254 and a population comprising mostly middle class people such a high pricing is not acceptable. Although we should keep in mind that the specs provided it's very difficult to aggressively price the product. But there are people who are tech crazy and they will go to any extent to grab the latest piece of tech.
So, this is my opinion on the latest flagship device of Xiaomi. Do let me know what is your view on this in the comments.
